Sarah Furey

I began my career as a teacher and quickly specialised in teaching children with physical disabilities and autism. I taught for 30 years and finally retired as a Headteacher of a special school in East Sussex in 2002.

My passion for herbs led me to study a 4 year distance learning degree course at the College of Phytotherapy at Bodle Street Green, East Sussex. This was a rigorous course that combined modern medical theory (anatomy, physiology, pathology, medicine, clinical examination) with a comprehensive study of herbs and a holistic approach to illness and health. Eventually I knew that I had to retire from teaching so I could devote myself full time to my herbal practice.

Two years ago I completed a Diploma in Nutrition as my work always involves me giving dietary and lifestyle advice. A balanced, nutritious diet free from junk food and additives is the first step towards good health. It has also given me the tools to recommend safe ways to detox the body and approach weight management and, together with herbs, to effectively treat conditions such as Candida, childhood ezcema, and infertility - to name a few.

I also have a Diploma in Iridology - an examination of the iris - which is a very effective diagnostic tool.
