Newsletter #1 2009

This is my first newsletter to my patients to keep in touch and let you know what I’m up to!

Harvesting and tincture making.
The weather and the seasons have been perfect this year for my herb gathering. I’ve harvested Nettle, Ribwort, Cleavers, Elderflower, Red Clover, Limeflowers and Agrimony from the golf course. (Grace my black lab has got used to waiting for me!!) I have Borage, Calendula, Rose and Motherwort growing in the garden – all my favourite ‘emotional support’ herbs.
All this abundance has lent itself to me perfecting my tincture-making, so the dispensary and kitchen are currently full of buckets and bottles!

My clinics are currently in Forest Row, Haywards Heath and at home. The Riverside Practice at Forest Row is a fairly new venture. I have been running talks there on the healing power of herbs.
I am also running workshops at Stoneywish Nature Reserve, Ditchling on Friday mornings. We have been having great fun making tinctures, creams and glycerites alongside me teaching them how to identify and use a range of herbs for first aid. – I also intend to re-start my evening talks here in the Autumn.
I am also running a student clinic for the College of Naturopathic Medicine from my home on Saturdays in August and September. As this is a teaching clinic I am offering half price consultations (£20 new, £15 repeats if you know anyone who would benefit…and only two students with me at a time I assure you). I’ve realised I couldn’t quite give up the teaching side after all!!

Flower Essences
My spiritual development has also moved at a pace. I run a meditation group here once a month and now make flower essences to treat the emotional and spiritual body. These work really well alongside the herbs or on their own.
I now have a range of Flower Essences that seem to be specifically for sensitive children. They offer strength and protection, safe sleep, to name a few..and of course, adults looking at their inner child issues benefit from them as well.

Enough for now. May I take this opportunity to wish you continued good health and happiness.

With best wishes
